Job Purpose

To support the growth of Kao Malaysia's business by managing assigned key accounts, executing customer development plans, driving in-store excellence, and ensuring strong collaboration with internal teams to achieve sales, distribution, and profitability targets.


Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management & Business Growth
  • Support the delivery of annual sales, distribution, and profit targets for assigned key accounts.
  • Execute joint business plans (JBP), promotion calendars, and category initiatives.
  • Monitor sell-in, sell-out, stock levels, and customer performance to identify opportunities or risks.
  • Prepare accurate forecasts and ensure optimal order fulfilment.
2. Customer Relationship & Negotiation
  • Build positive working relationships with buyers, merchandisers, and store operations teams.
  • Manage day-to-day communication, issue resolution, and negotiation of in-store activities.
  • Ensure timely proposal, submission, and follow-up of trade promotions, listings, and price updates.
3. In-Store Execution Excellence
  • Work closely with the Trade Marketing and Sales Operation teams to ensure flawless execution of displays, merchandising standards, and promotional activities.
  • Conduct regular store checks to monitor pricing, competitor activities, visibility, and stock availability.
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyse sales data, customer POS reports, and market information to generate insights for business growth.
  • Track promo performance, ROI, and category trends to support decision-making.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports for internal communication.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Marketing, SCM, Finance, and Trade Marketing to ensure alignment on brand initiatives and commercial plans.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), pricing changes, and strategic projects.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of experience in FMCG sales, account management, or category/trade function (fresh graduates with strong internship experience may be considered).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and influence effectively.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with data and Excel/POS reports.
  • Able to work independently, manage timelines, and multitask.
  • Possesses own transport and willing to travel for store visits/meetings.
