RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Advise management on the measures to be taken in the interests of the workplace's safety, health & environment.
  • Responsible for all EHS operations to ensure legal compliance.
  • Access hazard and risk, develop employee's skills to identify Unsafe Conditions/Acts.
  • Inspect the workplace to determine whether any machinery, plant, equipment, substance, appliance or process or any description of manual labour used in the workplace, is of such nature liable to cause bodily injury to any person working in the workplace or/and result in violation of environmental regulations.
  • Investigate any accident, near-miss accident, dangerous occurrence, or occupational poisoning in the workplace.
  • Assist the EHS committee, in organizing and implementing environmental, occupational safety and health programs at the workplace and become secretary to the committee to perform all functions of a secretary.
  • Assist the EHS committee in any inspection of the workplace for the purpose of checking the effectiveness of any measures taken in compliance with the regulations.
  • Collect, analyze and maintain statistics on any accident, dangerous occurrence and occupational poisoning which have occurred at the workplace.
  • Report to the management of any event related to the safety and health of the workplace on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with various departments on all environmental, health, safety & EHS-MS initiatives & their smooth implementation across all sites.
  • Any other duties on matters pertaining to the safety and health of the workplace by the management.
  • Assist in emergency response, ERT training, and any other training required to enhance employees' understanding and skill in terms of EHS.
  • Familiar with ISO 14001.
  • Take up any other task assigned by the superior from time to time.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Certified SHO and registered with DOSH
  • Schedule waste management (CePSWaM) competent person
  • Minimum 5 years in manufacturing experience managing EHS
