About the Business

Interactive Entertainment Group Global (IEGG) is responsible for the Global R&D, operation, and development of the company's interactive entertainment business including games and eSports. Through online gaming, live broadcasts and offline eSports, IEG assists the company in leading the global interactive entertainment market to create better interactive entertainment content experiences for users.

Job Responsibilities

  • Translate and localize game content (e.g., storyline, UI, dialogues, text descriptions, etc.) into Malay, ensuring language fluency and alignment with the game style.
  • Proofread and review Malay localized content to ensure linguistic accuracy and cultural adaptation.
  • Adapt translation style and wording based on the target players' needs to enhance localization appeal.
  • Collaborate with product managers, developers, and other language specialists to ensure consistency in the multilingual environment.
  • Manage the localization workflow and deliver high-quality translations on schedule.
  • Use translation tools (e.g., CAT tools) for content management and terminology maintenance.
  • Test and optimize the textual experience in games to ensure user immersion and enjoyment.

Job Requirements

  • Language Skills: Native-level proficiency in Malay and excellent English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of localization or translation experience; experience in game localization is preferred.
  • Cultural Understanding: In-depth knowledge of Malaysian culture and player habits, with expertise in addressing cultural nuances.
  • Tool Proficiency: Familiarity with translation management tools (e.g., SDL Trados, MemoQ, Memsource) and localization workflows.
  • Writing Skills: Excellent Malay writing skills, with the ability to quickly adapt to the text style of games.
  • Passion for Games: Passionate about games and familiar with various game
  • genres (e.g., MMORPG, MOBA, card games, etc.).
  • Time Management: Highly efficient, able to work independently, and capable of quickly adapting and problem-solving.

Bonus Points

  • Experience in localizing cross-border game projects.
  • Familiarity with the Malaysian and Southeast Asian game publishing markets.
  • Proficiency in Chinese is a plus.
