About the role

We are seeking a talented Contract QS or Contract Executive to join our dynamic team at Ysk Construction & Electrical Sdn Bhd in Cheras, KL and Sungai Buloh, Selangor. In this full-time position, you will play a key role in managing and overseeing the contractual aspects of our diverse construction and electrical projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and pricing strategies for tender submissions.
  • Source subcontractors and suppliers, negotiate prices, and assess the quality of their products and workmanship.
  • Evaluate contract terms, review all contract documentation, identify risks, and provide advice on contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project costs, prepare progress claims, and ensure proper management of financial cash flow.
  • Assess subcontractor claims, issue payment certificates, and manage variations.
  • Handle variation orders, prepare detailed cost breakdowns for additional work, and ensure compliance with contract terms.
  • Prepare the final account and cost report, settling accounts with both the client and subcontractors.

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar contract management or quantity surveying role, preferably in the construction industries
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex contracts, variations, and claims
  • Excellent understanding of contract law, construction industry regulations, and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions
  • Proficiency in preparing and interpreting financial and technical reports
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Degree or Diploma or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction / Building Management, or a related field
