Get To Know The Role

• Working with Data Stewards, Data Owners and relevant parties to implement and enforce the enterprise-wide data governance framework, including policies, standards, and procedures set by the EDaC.
• Collaborate with Data Steward to define and maintain critical data elements and translate business rules into technical data quality rules in accordance with the established Data Quality Dimensions.
• Take full ownership of the development and maintenance of Data Quality (DQ) Scorecards and Dashboards, holding ultimate accountability for the accuracy, integrity, and relevance of the metrics presented.
• Collaborate with Data Quality Analysts to define, build, and continuously enhance DQ dashboards, ensuring they provide actionable insights for all stakeholders.
• Actively monitor data quality dashboards, identify anomalies, and lead to mediate root-cause analysis for data issues with Backend Engineer and Data Engineer.
• Participate in the Executive Data Committee (EDaC) by preparing and presenting reports on DQ status, trends, and remediation progress.
• Lead Data Governance Working Group sessions by facilitating collaboration and resolving conflicts between different business units over data.

• Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve complex data quality issues by:

• Partnering with Technology to ensure timely and accurate root cause analysis.

• Working with Product and Engineering teams to implement permanent system-level fixes.
• Coordinating with Operations and Business units to execute data cleansing initiatives.

• Collaborating with Business Data Stewards to resolve domain-specific data quality matters.

• Log, prioritize, and meticulously track data quality issues in an issue management system (JIRA).

• Ensure all data handling practices for data quality are strictly adhering to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) guidelines (including RMiT, Data Management & MIS Framework ) and the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
• Champion innovation by researching and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to pioneer new methods to support Data Governance functions to be more efficient.
• Any other task assigned from time to time, to support Data Governance function.

The Must-Haves

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in a data-focused role, such as Data Governance, Data Stewardship, Data Quality Management, or Data Analysis.
• Data Governance Acumen: Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, metadata, and data stewardship best practices.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience in the banking or financial services industry. Deep understanding of banking data domains (e.g., customer KYC, AML/CFT, credit risk, deposits, payments).
• Regulatory Familiarity: Proven knowledge of the Malaysian regulatory landscape, particularly BNM's Data Management & MIS Framework, RMiT and PDPA requirements.

• Technical Skills:

• Strong proficiency in SQL for data profiling and analysis.

• Experience in a cloud-first environment (e.g., AWS).
• Deep, hands-on experience with the Snowflake Data Cloud which includes understanding of the Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, database objects, and role-based access control.
• Hands-on proficiency in Python for data manipulation and application development.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying interactive data applications and dashboards using the Streamlit framework (Especially Streamlit in Snowflake (SiS) applications directly on the platform)

• Preferred:

• Professional certification in data management (e.g., DAMA Certified Data Management Professional - CDMP).

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
