Job Summary:

As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for daily operations of the R&D laboratory. Your duties include preparing samples, conducting routine tests, maintaining laboratory apparatus and equipment, ensuring hygiene standards, and documenting test results. The role also involves maintaining accurate records of all laboratory activities and providing support to the R&D team in formulation development.

Key Responsibilities:

1.     Laboratory Apparatus & Consumables Management

  • Ensure all laboratory instruments and tools are cleaned, calibrated, and maintained regularly.
  • Monitor and manage laboratory consumables (beakers, pipettes, gloves, glassware, etc.) to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Arrange timely replenishment of consumables and coordinate with procurement when necessary.

2.     Formulation support

  • To conduct finished good real time stability testing in accordance with the established protocols and procedures and to highlight abnormalities or off-spec cases to the superior immediately.
  • To arrange raw materials accurately based on formulation sheets, assist chemist in preparing prototype samples following standard R&D procedure.
  • Label, organize, and store all samples systematically for traceability.

3.     Hygiene Handling & Safety

  • Maintain high standards of laboratory hygiene, ensuring all benches, tools, and storage areas are clean and sanitized daily.
  • Follow proper hygiene practices when handling samples and raw materials to prevent contamination.
  • Dispose of chemical waste, used materials, and expired raw material according to safety and environmental procedures.

4.     Document Management

  • Ensure all testing procedures, results, and calibration records are properly documented and updated regularly.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: At least Diploma in Science, Chemistry or related discipline.
  • Industry Experience: 1+ years of experience in a laboratory, preferably within FMCG / personal care / cosmetics / consumer goods industry
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and recording results.
  • Adaptability: Capable of performing under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Basic communication skills for both verbal and written in English.
  • Fluent in Chinese (reading and writing) will be an added advantage.
