We are looking for a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team as a Junior DBA / DBA.

As a Junior DBA / DBA, the candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our company's databases, ensuring their efficiency, security, and integrity. This is a critical role that plays a key part in supporting our organization's data-driven decision-making processes.  

Assist in data extraction, transform and load during data migration from a legacy system to a modern product under development.

If the candidate is detail-oriented individual with a strong technical background and a passion for data management, we would encourage him/her to apply.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement, and maintain databases, ensuring optimal performance and data integrity.
  • Monitor database systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data availability and minimize downtime.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve database related issues and performance bottlenecks.
  • Work with development teams to optimize database design and performance for new applications.
  • Develop and implement security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems and performance issues.
  • Maintain, manage, monitor existing DB system.
  • Collaborate with Dev teams to optimize Database schemas, Procedure and guidelines.
  • Create and maintain documentation.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in database administration.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience as a Database Administrator (DBA) or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server). Knowledge in other DB systems like Oracle, MySQL is an added advantage but not a must.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database query optimization.
  • Experience with database security and backup procedures.
  • Familiarity with database design principles and normalization.
  • Ability in T-SQL scripts and scripting will be an added advantage in Data handling and requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
