Job Summary

The Senior Finance Executive (Costing) is responsible for overseeing product costing, inventory valuation, and ensuring compliance with statutory and internal reporting requirements. This role supports management in financial planning and performance analysis while ensuring the quality management system delivers its intended outcomes.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Costing

  • Manage inventory valuation and product costing processes in alignment with company and statutory requirements.
  • Collect and analyze production data to establish and update standard costs for new and existing manufacturing activities.
  • Liaise with Purchasing and Supply Chain teams to obtain cost-related information, including Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Conduct variance analysis between standard and actual costs to identify discrepancies and implement cost control measures.
  • Perform detailed cost analyses of raw materials, production, finished goods, packaging, and distribution to identify cost reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Review product pricing based on cost analysis and profitability performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost optimization strategies such as process improvement, waste reduction, supplier negotiations, and sourcing alternatives.
  • Participate actively in budget preparation and provide monthly production cost variance reports against the approved budget.
  • Perform purchase order (PO) analyses (e.g., PPV) and prepare related financial reports for management review.
  • Oversee stock take activities, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of inventory with the general ledger.
  • Maintain and update the costing system, ensuring accuracy and timely monthly costing closing.
  • Support the Senior Finance Manager in audits and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Review and validate standard cost setup in new systems as required to maintain data integrity.
  • Perform any other ad hoc tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of costing experience in the manufacturing or FMCG industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and initiative with a positive work attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3, RM5,000.00 per month
