As a Lead Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading structural engineering projects in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on FLNG, LNG, and FPSO structures. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to guide and mentor a team of engineers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in EPC/EPCIC projects and possess strong computational skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring all deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions are developed and implemented.
  • Provide advanced structural engineering analysis and design for FLNG, LNG, and FPSO projects.
  • Utilize computational tools and software to perform structural analysis and simulations.
  • Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Oversee the execution of EPC/EPCIC projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to design specifications.
  • Address and resolve technical issues that arise during project execution.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support and professional development opportunities.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all engineering work meets regulatory and company standards.
  • Review and approve design documents, calculations, and project deliverables.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on structural engineering matters.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, with a focus on FLNG, LNG, and FPSO structures.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a lead position within EPC/EPCIC projects.
  • Strong computational skills and proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, SACS, ANSYS).
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new software packages as required.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Full command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be a Malaysian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Malaysia.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Chartered Engineer status is an advantage.
  • Experience with advanced computational tools and software.
