    KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE
  • Working as part of a virtual HR Services team across the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region, the role holder acts as a trusted HR professional adviser for line managers and employees, by providing a consistent and high quality service, in line with company values, policies, and best practice. The role holder is flexible to work across boundaries to resolve complex problems using their HR expertise, and constantly seeks to deliver excellent customer service to the business through continuous process improvement.
    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Acts as an honest and trusted HR professional advisor for line managers and employees alike, providing consistent advice and a clear rationale behind recommended actions.
  • Use HR expertise and best practice to provide quick and innovative solutions to resolve complex problems.
  • Work with colleagues across HR Services and wider HR community to ensure a consistent approach to process and policies, and drive an integrated and high quality service to the business.
  • Manages queries relating to local specific/legislation including payroll
  • Manages monthly external payroll processing; preferably with experience managing countries in Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA).
  • Works closely with offshore Recruitment Team on all hires
  • Provides expert advice on Immigration legislation and activities
  • Manages the administration of benefits
  • Manages noncomplex case management activities in a timely and robust manner (including advising and supporting line managers with informal and formal unperformance policies and procedures, discipline and grievance cases, and employee redundancy cases)
  • Undertakes any HR transactional activities that must remain within country boundaries.
  • Ensures people data administration is accurate and employee records are up to date.
  • Remains current on all HR policies, programmes, and practices and stays informed of new (and pending) local laws and regulations.
  • Works closely with the legal team to stay informed of requirements regarding data protection law and regulations.
  • Takes an active role in inducting and training new starters to deliver a confident and credible onboarding experience.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the business in which they operate, and a comprehensive understanding of the local and regional culture and customs.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience

  • Graduate level or corresponding experience, and at least 7 years generalist HR experience.
  • Depth of experience and knowledge on complex and specialist HR issues including payroll. Knowledge on payroll for countries in Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa (AMEA) would be an added advantage.
  • Previous experience acting as a consistent and trusted point of contact for managers and employees, and experience of complex query management.
  • Good stakeholder management and relationship skills.
  • Previous experience of working in a HR Service Centre environment and managing within an SLA framework would be an advantage.
  • Experience of SAP/SuccessFactor would be an advantage.
  • Ability to converse & write in Mandarin would be an added advantage.
