Role Overview:

As the Vice President of Business Development at The Rise, you will lead our efforts to identify and develop new business opportunities, including sponsorships and strategic partnerships that enhance our brand and expand our market presence. This senior role requires a strategic thinker with a robust analytical ability to understand market trends, drive business strategy, and effectively increase brand recognition and revenue. You will work closely with the Head of Strategy to align business development activities with the company's overall strategic goals. Your work will directly contribute to The Rise's growth and expansion in the media and events landscape.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Business Development: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities to drive growth and profitability through partnerships, sponsorships, and new market entry
  • Deal Negotiation and Closure: Lead the negotiation process for all business development deals, applying advanced negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and maximize value for The Rise. Oversee the deal execution, from initial agreement to final closing, ensuring all legal, financial, and operational aspects are addressed and align with The Rise's strategic goals and compliance requirements
  • Collaborative Strategic Planning: Work closely with the Head of Strategy to develop and refine business strategies, ensuring they align with The Rise's overall strategic objectives and market positioning
  • Market Research and Trends Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to understand current trends, competitive landscape, and potential areas for expansion. Use insights to develop strategies that align with The Rise's mission and market positioning
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key industry players, potential partners, and stakeholders. Negotiate deals that benefit The Rise both strategically and financially
  • Business Strategy Formulation: Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies that ensure the company's long-term success and alignment with overarching organizational goals
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze business development initiatives' performance against ROI and key performance indicators, adjusting strategies as necessary
  • Brand Recognition: Work closely with the marketing and communications teams to enhance brand recognition and ensure consistency in The Rise's external communications
  • Innovation Leadership: Propose and champion innovative business ideas and solutions that keep The Rise at the forefront of the media industry

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, preferably in the media, entertainment, or related industry
  • Proven track record of identifying and building partnerships, sponsorships, and strategic alliances
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with market research, performance metrics, and business strategy
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship management skills with the ability to engage with senior-level executives
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and digital content distribution
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to present and influence effectively
