  • Lead, manage, structure and develop the Business Development department of Energy Efficiency to optimize and drive productivity and efficiency of the functions
  • Lead, develop and implement complete commercial and marketing strategy of Energy Efficiency solutions in Malaysia
  • Drive partnership initiatives with support of the Group and Managing Director to develop and secure partnerships for energy efficiency, district cooling, digital solutions and new businesses identified as strategic for the Group from time to time
  • Lead and manage full spectrum of Business Development process and activities for Energy Efficiency solutions:
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities, directly with internal business teams and through external partners
  • Prequalify leads and produce indicative offers within tight timeline
  • Constantly adjusting priorities of opportunities and managing client expectations to ensure efficient use of internal resources and maximise the chance of securing contract
  • Manage tender and/or firm proposal submissions with internal resources (finance, legal and technical team) and stakeholders (engineering firm, EPC contractor, OEM ) to produce high quality business plans and proposals, meeting challenging client deadlines
  • Manage internal approval processes for project investments
  • Lead contract negotiation with supply chain partners and customers with support from technical, legal and financial teams
  • Secure projects with the targeted profitability and IRR criteria, and hand over to project team for implementation
  • Drive and manage Key Account initiatives with support of the Group and Managing Director, to deliver accelerated sales growth for the identified Key Account(s)
  • Monitor the performance of Malaysia business development activities for Energy Efficiency solutions:
  • Manage regular sales review and reporting process
  • Produce and review sales KPIs, providing recommendations for improvement of team performance
  • Work closely with the Group to identify and develop new businesses aligned with company ambitions in the region
  • Represent the Group with Managing Director and manage relationships with the following stakeholders: customers & partners, contractors, suppliers, associations, agencies, etc.

REQUIREMENTS
-
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university. _Master degree or MBA is a plus._

  • A minimum of
    58 years of sales and business development experience in either energy, infrastructure, engineering or industrial sectors for multinational companies

3 years as Commercial or Business Developer with successful track records in Malaysia
-
Strong experience within a "Consultative selling" environment (value-added services, where understanding, questioning and influencing the clients' need is key).

Knowledgeable on
project financial modelling and on the
energy efficiency project development phases:

  • Possess sound business acumen and understanding of balanced approach to risk/reward
  • Must possess excellent communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills, and be able to work with regional and senior management, investors, internal and external stakeholders
  • Has the capability to interface efficiently with multiple teams (finance, legal, engineering) of all levels in a multicultural and technical environment
  • Strong leadership, people management and continual process improvement skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving & decisionmaking skills, meticulous and eye for detail
  • Strong mindset and conduct in ethics and compliance
  • Ability to work (speak, read, write) fluently in English and Bahasa Malaysia, another Asian language (Mandarin or Cantonese would be an advantage)
  • Ability to use computer key software such as text editors, calculation spreadsheets, presentations (WORD, excel, powerpoint, Outlook etc)
