Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daytoday operations of the café, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for all aspects of the café.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including food safety standards.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels to reduce waste and control costs.
  • Maintain equipment and arrange for repairs as needed.

Customer Service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service and address customer inquiries and complaints promptly.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure the café ambiance is inviting, clean, and wellmaintained.

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise café staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Schedule shifts and manage labor costs while ensuring adequate staffing levels.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development.
  • Encourage teamwork and communication among staff members.

Financial Management:

  • Manage the café's budget and financial performance, including sales, expenses, and profitability.
  • Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to increase revenue and control costs.
  • Handle cash management, including daily cash reconciliations and deposits.

Marketing and Promotion:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing ones.
  • Plan and oversee special events, promotions, and community engagement activities.
  • Utilize social media and other marketing channels to promote the café.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a café manager or in a similar hospitality role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for hospitality.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage preparation and health and safety regulations.
  • Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and analyze financial reports.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in using pointofsale systems and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role in a café or restaurant setting.

Working Conditions:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
