Comfort- is looking for an innovative Product Innovation Manager to spearhead our new product development efforts. This position demands a strong background in product management and design, coupled with expertise in quality assurance. The ideal candidate will excel in conceptualising and developing new slipcover products, ensuring top-notch product quality, and leading a creative team. By aligning product initiatives with our strategic business goals, this role will be pivotal in driving our product innovation and design excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

New Product Creation:
  • Lead the ideation, conceptualization, and development of new slipcover products, designs, and features.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product developers, designers, and catalogue coordinators, to bring new product ideas to life.
  • Conduct market research, trend analysis, and competitor benchmarking to identify new product opportunities and consumer preferences.

Product Quality Assurance:
  • Define and implement quality control processes and standards to ensure the consistency, durability, and performance of slipcover products.
  • Establish quality assurance protocols for product testing, inspection, and feedback collection throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Work closely with the pattern engineer and product operations specialist to address any quality issues or production challenges proactively.

Product Design and Innovation:
  • Drive product design excellence by overseeing the creation of innovative and aesthetically appealing slipcover designs.
  • Stay abreast of design trends, materials, and technologies to inspire and inform product design decisions.
  • Champion a culture of creativity, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the products team.

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the products team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Set clear goals, priorities, and expectations for team members and hold them accountable for results.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team, providing opportunities for growth, learning, and career development.

Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans and roadmaps for product innovation, quality improvement, and design evolution.
  • Collaborate with ecommerce, marketing, Ops and CX leaderships to align product initiatives with overall business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product innovation, quality, and design, and take corrective actions as needed.

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in product management, product design, or innovation leadership roles within the furniture, textile, or consumer goods industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in new product development, including ideation, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance principles, processes, and methodologies, with a track record of driving product quality improvements.
  • Exceptional design sensibility and creativity, with a portfolio showcasing successful product design projects and innovations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical mindset, and the ability to translate market insights into actionable product strategies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, design software, and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
  • Passion for innovation, design excellence, and delivering exceptional customer experiences through product innovation and quality.
