A Research Assistant is a key member responsible for providing support in various aspects of the research process to achieve the company R&D goals.

This role involves new product development, formulation optimisation, quality assurance and technical support.

  • New Product Development: Conduct research to develop innovative base oil formulations that align with market trends and customer needs. Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to bring new products from conceptualization to commercialization through rigorous experiments, sampling and tests.
  • Formulation Optimization: Analyze and optimize existing formulations to enhance product performance, durability, and sustainability. Stay abreast of industry advancements and incorporate new materials and technologies into formulations.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality assurance team to ensure that products meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough testing and analysis of raw materials and finished products.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including sales, marketing, and customers.
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to research projects, ensuring timelines and milestones are met. Document and communicate research findings effectively to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines. Stay informed about industry regulations and implement changes as needed.
  • Assist in administrative tasks related to the research project, including ordering supplies, coordinating meetings, and managing schedules. Other Assignments
  • To assist with any related tasks, projects, and other assigned duties as and when deemed necessary.

Qualifications

  • Minimum a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Life / Health Sciences, Chemical Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum 23 years working experience in laboratory test and instruments.
  • Proven experience in research and development, preferably in the petrochemical industry.
  • Passionate in working in a laboratory environment and willing to learn.
  • Willing to work in Banting and 5.5 working days per week.
  • Willing to travel to plant, branches and HQ to carry out research and studies.

Salary:
RM3, RM5,000.00 per month
