My client is a dynamic multinational company with a significant presence in the Asia Pacific region, specialising in manufacturing and demonstrating a commitment to financial excellence, compliance, and strategic business expansion.

Job Description

  1. Lead accounting team in Asia Pacific region i.e. Malaysia, Vietnam, Australia and Hong Kong to ensure adherence to both local and Group's reporting requirement.
  2. Participate in regular management review with Group Exco members. Involve and contribute to formulate the company's strategy, investment evaluation and business expansion plan.
  3. Responsible for financial reporting, budget and financial forecast for the region including planning, coordinating and consolidation.
  4. Ensure compliance in statutory reporting for all legal entities across the Asia Pacific region. Liaise with external auditors at respective region, in addition to auditors in charge of group plc audits.
  5. Review annual corporate tax submissions, transfer pricing documentation, indirect tax administration for all business units. Manage and undertake actions for any changes and updates in tax regulations.
  6. Plan and manage cash flow of the region to ensure effective cash management. Liaise with bankers for any financial facilities required.
  7. Liaise with company secretary to ensure compliance of filing of documents are in accordance with local companies act.
  8. Carry out duties as a company director in signing contracts with third parties, board resolutions, and other legal documents as required/advised by respective local regulations/Group Legal.
  9. Review, improve and implement appropriate internal controls. Coordinate annual internal audit assessment exercise and field audit undertaken by Group Internal Audit.
  10. Responsible for finance IT issues such as changes in set-up due to change in accounting standards, tax regulations and system upgrades.
  11. Work closely with respective countries' local management team in a business partner role.
  12. Involve in local finance operations processes such as expenses control, capital expenditure, inventories management, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and treasury function to support efficient daily operation.
  13. Coach, train and support development of finance team in respective business unit.
  14. GMP Compliance:
  • Always maintain working area complies with GMP requirement.

The Successful Applicant

  • A relevant bachelor's degree or professional qualification in accounting field.
  • Strong knowledge in financial and management reporting, taxation and treasury.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret financial information/transactions.
  • Understanding implementation of best practices in business processes.
  • Problem solver, both independently and as a team.
  • Advanced user in ERP system and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in manufacturing industry within MNC environment.
  • Working experience in costing is an added advantage.
