For our suppliers, swift payments for the expensive materials are a major reason dealing with us. Our finance & accounting team works closely with our buyers (sourcing worldwide) and kick into action well before materials arrive on our yard (we pre-pay). Once verified by our QC team, final settlement is arranged before materials are stowed by yard operations and meticulously accounted for in stock.

The amount and value of the materials on our yard fluctuate with global metal markets (LME), making excellent inventory accounting and valuation a critical contribution. We deal extensively with customs, tax and other government authorities in Malaysia and overseas. Our business is international, 100% of what we ship is exported.

Supporting and reporting to our Head of Finance, you will join the start-up team for our 2nd factory in Asia in Johor, commencing operations in late 2024, as
Team Lead - Accounting & Finance .

What you will do:
  • Monthly, Quarterly and Year-End Closings: Complete monthly and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Accounts Payable: Ensure the payables are captured on a timely basis and work closely with the back-office department for the timely payment to our suppliers.
  • Costing: Basic knowledge about the impact of commodity price and FX swing on the inventory valuation.
Other welcome knowledge (otherwise we train you, that's how we develop our people):
  • Monitor and Manage Cash Flow: Oversee daily cash flow activities to ensure that cash levels are sufficient to meet operational needs and manage any shortfalls or surpluses effectively.
  • Audit Support: Assist with external audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries regarding general ledger activities.
  • Taxation: Sound knowledge of withholding tax and corporate tax and responsible for preparation of income tax schedule.
What you bring along:
  • ACCA, CPA, Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent, worked in and with Multinational Company (MNC).
  • 8+ years' experience, with at least 2-3 accounting periods, where you closed accounts (mostly) by yourself.
  • Experience in Microsoft Navision or software in the Dynamics ERP systems range and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Analytical, attention to detail, at high speed, data volumes and number of transactions, our business is fast.
  • Anyone in our start-up team works like a Swiss Army Knife, multitasking, more than one job, hands-on.
  • Independent and reliable in what you do. Collaborative team player, when working with others.
  • Familiar with manufacturing / construction environment. We operate in Tanjung Langsat.
