Sales Director

Plans and directs sales activities including managing the country's sales representatives to achieve target revenue and profitability set by the company. Establishes and maintains positive relationships with customers and suppliers to better align with their respective business goals, target market and solution focus. Develop the discipline of account management plan and review rhythm to identify potential issues and opportunities pro-actively. Responsible for individual development of each member of the sales team to continuously upgrade their competencies.
Reports to: VP & Country GM, Malaysia
Responsibilities:- Manage the Sales Department's resources and personnel to obtain maximum benefit through recruiting training organization and servant leadership.
- Drive GTM strategies for the Channel and maintain accurate sales forecasts & budgets
- Responsible for planning and executing sales and program strategies that create competitive advantage and accelerate growth.
- Influence internal and external stakeholders to ensure Tech Data maintains outstanding service levels in Sales, Operations, Reporting, Customer Service, Credit etc.
- Develop manage and evaluate Sales Department compensation plans to promote the success of sales programs and maintain current requirements.
- Formulate and recommend plans policies goals and objectives for the organizations sales activities to expand market share in existing markets and capture new markets.
- Develop and executive both short- and long-range sales plans and programs in conjunction with Senior Management to ensure profitability and growth of the company's products
- Ensure that all transactions meet not just the profitability expectations but also the ethics and compliance standards set by the company.
- 12+ years of progressively responsible sales experience in IT related industry, preferably in IT distribution
- Minimum 5+ years of sales management experience
- Team Management experience of not less than 20 sales representatives
- 2+ year of P&L accountability, with understanding of working capital.
- Proven record of successful deals closed
- Good understand of the dynamics of the IT industry, from the IT retail business to enterprise solutions
- Constantly kept abreast with developing technology trends.
- Critical thinker, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Good time-management skills
- Great interpersonal and communication skills
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Master degree preferred in Marketing or Business
