Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager is a key role at JAS Forwarding, responsible for driving revenue growth and market share expansion while fostering strong relationships with new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase customer base and revenue growth.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and services offered by JAS Forwarding.
  • Travel throughout assigned territory to meet with customers and identify new business opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong business relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide pricing, credit terms, and prepare sales contracts for orders obtained.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline customer supply chain activities and procedures, including cost-saving initiatives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Air & Ocean freight management and operational teams to understand customer-specific issues.
  • Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new business generated.
  • Provide activity reports and sales plans through the company's CRM platform.
  • Utilize the company's CRM platform to enhance sales activity and customer engagement.
  • Participate in ongoing sales and skills training to stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Align with the company's Credit Management Policy and ensure AR collections are met.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent client and management presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and influence relationships at all levels.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent.
  • 4-6 years of applicable business development and sales experience in Ocean & Air Freight Forwarding.
  • Ability to understand clients' Freight Forwarding challenges and structure effective solutions.
  • Valid Driving License.
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CRM).
Work Environment:

100% performed in a climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
