  • Trade validations to front office systems, cash equity/stock loan breaks, intersystem break investigation, review documentation and settlement discrepancy queries from back office operation teams.

The Opportunity:

  • You will be part of a task force responsible for managing post trade support activities such as intersystem break investigation, trade validations, resolve trade/settlement discrepancies and trade life cycle management. The role will cover Hong Kong and European facilitated activities under Hong Kong balance sheets.
  • This role requires frequent interactions with traders, sales, structurer and trading support as well as back office operations such as confirmations, settlements & cash services ops. The balance sheet covers Asia Pacific (APAC) business predominantly.
  • The role will be working on Hong Kong shift with a possibility for staggered work hours.

What you'll do:

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for managing post trade support activities to the Prime Finance Operations team for Hong Kong region such as intersystem break investigation and resolution, trade validations, transaction support, query management, regulatory reports preparation, operational risks management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Intersystem break investigation and resolution.
  • Control and validation of trade capture.
  • Query management.
  • Transaction support on Swaps, Equities, Deposit Receipts conversion, Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) creation and redemption.
  • Regulatory Reports preparations such as Hong Kong (HK) Market Making SD4, SD6, Listed Option Market Making (LOMM) reports, Callable Bull/Bear contracts and Derivative warrants reports, China Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor (QFII) report, India Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) report etc.
  • Interact with stakeholders to resolve trade discrepancies, issues on a timely manner, and escalate as needed.
  • Production of daily/weekly/monthly Management Information (MI) reporting to management.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Test (UAT) for new systems and enhancements, ensuring they meet business and operational requirements.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking and judgment to operational situations in a fast-paced environment to drive progress.
  • Timely escalation when necessary for issues that may cause financial loss to the bank or that could affect client relationships.
  • Maintain high standards of control and minimal operational incidents. Identify potential financial risk to the bank and ensure proper resolution is achieved within the bank's guidelines.
  • Work with cross-functional global product heads in Market Securities Services (MSS) Operations to plan and execute future migrations and or projects, based on agreed end-state operating model.
  • Ensure consistent procedures are being followed for migrations from all locations and build capability in Kuala Lumpur to receive and manage functions.
  • Continue to improve processes and realise efficiency savings. Conduct root cause analysis on repetitive process exceptions and implement fixes.
  • Recruit and train local staff as required, including establishing materials, training programmes etc. to ensure specialist product and process knowledge can be retained and handed on appropriately to new staff.
  • Work with IT to implement both strategic and tactical change programmes.
