IGT Solutions is seeking a customer-focused and technically proficient Desktop Support Engineer to provide essential technical assistance to our internal users. As a Desktop Support Engineer in our BPO environment, you will be the first point of contact for resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to our critical business operations and client services. Your ability to diagnose problems quickly, provide effective solutions, and maintain a positive attitude is crucial for this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide first-level technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person.
  2. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues with desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
  3. Diagnose and resolve software-related problems, including operating systems (Windows, macOS), productivity suites (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace), and business applications.
  4. Assist users with account management, password resets, and access issues.
  5. Install, configure, and deploy new desktop hardware and software.
  6. Perform basic network troubleshooting, including connectivity issues.
  7. Document all support requests, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in a ticketing system.
  8. Follow established procedures and knowledge base articles to resolve common issues.
  9. Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
  10. Provide user training and guidance on basic IT procedures and software usage.
  11. Maintain an inventory of IT assets.
  12. Ensure compliance with IT policies and security standards on end-user devices.
  13. Participate in IT projects related to desktop deployments and upgrades.
  14. Contribute to the development and maintenance of the IT knowledge base.
  15. Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  16. Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree or equivalent technical certification in Information Technology or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is preferred.

  3. Strong knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
  4. Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  5. Experience with Microsoft Office suite and other common business applications.
  6. Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  7. Familiarity with remote desktop support tools.
  8. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  9. Strong customer service and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  10. Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  11. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with IT service management (ITSM) ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
  2. Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM).
  3. Familiarity with ITIL framework.
  4. Experience with imaging and deployment tools.
  5. Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell).
