**Job Description Overview**:
The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness of ESCAPE’s facilities within the park. The key aspects include overseeing the housekeeping staff, establishing housekeeping schedules to ensure timely cleanliness, enforce proper housekeeping and cleanliness standards, and ensuring housekeeping facilities are well-kept.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Supervise a team of housekeeping staff and supervisors in their day-to-day duties. The Housekeeping Manager is expected to **personally monitor their work** and frequently make rounds instead of relying on supervisors.
2. Establish housekeeping schedules and routines to ensure the park’s facilities - toilets, walkways, resting areas, rubbish bins etc. - are cleaned in a timely manner.
3. Enforce proper housekeeping procedures and cleanliness standards by training housekeeping staff and correcting mistakes. This can only be achieved through constant supervision and monitoring of housekeeping staff.
4. Constantly look for ways to improve standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the park. Housekeeping Manager should take the initiative to research or observe other players in the industry instead of relying on spoon-fed instructions from his/her superior on implementing new housekeeping procedures.
**Requirements**:
**Physical**: must be able to work outdoors and walk a lot. ESCAPE Ipoh is a vast outdoor venue, therefore the Housekeeping Manager is expected to be reasonably fit to make rounds supervising the housekeeping staff.
**Attention to Detail**: Housekeeping Manager must be able to spot every detail of the work performed by the housekeeping staff to uphold the expected quality of cleanliness. The little details make a big difference.
**Experience in Housekeeping**: Understanding and familiarity of housekeeping procedures and cleanliness standards is helpful, but just as important is being open-minded to change and improvement rather than being stuck in inferior standards and habits.
**Communication**: Housekeeping Manager should have a habit of giving instructions clearly to his/her subordinates for them to perform their duties effectively. He/she is also expected to follow instructions from his/her immediate superior only instead of taking directions from other managers or subordinates.
**Understanding of Company Culture**: Ability to comprehend and embody our company's DNA, values, and the type of individuals we seek to hire. Understanding the kind of people we do not hire and ensuring alignment with our organization's culture.
