**Overview**:
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

**1. Culinary Excellence**:

- Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and execute menu offerings.
- Ensure the consistent preparation of high-quality dishes with attention to presentation and taste.

**2. Kitchen Management**:

- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring a clean and organised workspace.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including training and development.

**3. Menu Development**:

- Contribute to menu planning, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Introduce innovative and creative culinary ideas to enhance the menu.

**4. Quality Control**:

- Monitor food quality and ensure adherence to established standards.
- Conduct regular tastings and evaluations to maintain culinary excellence.

**5. Staff Leadership**:

- Provide guidance, support, and leadership to kitchen staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to enhance team morale.

**6. Inventory and Cost Control**:

- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock rotation
- Implement cost-effective measures to optimise kitchen expenses without compromising quality.

**7. Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce kitchen safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.

**8. Collaboration**:

- Work closely with other departments to coordinate events and ensure seamless dining experiences.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source quality ingredients.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Junior Sous Chef or senior culinary position.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of culinary trends, techniques, and best practices.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Creativity and innovation in culinary endeavours.
