Sports Academy Officer

The Sports Academy Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a sports academy. This position involves a combination of administrative, coaching, and organizational responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of the academy and the development of athletes. The Sports Academy Officer will work closely with coaches, athletes, and administrative staff to create an environment that fosters athletic excellence and personal growth.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Administration**:
- Manage the administrative tasks related to athlete registrations, schedules, and facilities.
- Coordinate and communicate with parents, athletes, and staff regarding academy programs and events.
- Maintain accurate records of athlete participation, progress, and achievements.
- **Coaching Support**:
- Assist coaches in planning and organizing training sessions, camps, and competitions.
- Provide support in skill development, fitness training, and performance analysis.
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture among athletes.
- **Event Management**:
- Coordinate and execute sports events, competitions, and showcases hosted by the academy.
- Liaise with external organizations, sports federations, and sponsors for event collaboration.
- **Player Development**:
- Implement and monitor athlete development programs to enhance skills and performance.
- Work closely with coaches to identify and nurture talent within the academy.
- **Facility Management**:
- Oversee the maintenance and utilization of sports facilities and equipment.
- Ensure a safe and conducive environment for training and competition.
- **Community Engagement**:
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with the local community, schools, and sports organizations.
- Promote the academy's programs and initiatives to attract new talent and participants.
- **Knowledge and Qualifications**:
- Knowledge in preparing sports-related course structures - Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.
- Ability to develop sports-related course modules, encompassing both theory and practical components.
- Direct contacts with Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) for effective collaboration.
- Establish and maintain contacts with various sports associations such as BAM, SAM, FAM, MSA, etc.
- Qualification as an External Assessor for evaluating athlete progress and performance.
- Experience in endorsing certificates from external parties.
- **Additional Skills**:
- Coaching Programme/Workshop Instructor.
- Strong team player with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Positive personality and effective communication skills.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, or a related field.
- Certification in coaching from a recognized sports coaching body.
- Experience in developing and implementing sports-related courses.
- Proven track record in athlete development and coaching.
- Strong networking skills with direct contacts in sports organizations.
- Certification as an External Assessor.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
