Service Consultant (Northern)

Involves in acquiring and retaining customers through collaboration with parts and service department personnel. This include managing coverage, retention, and development of customers within a designated sales territory. The role serves as a key contact for the Dealer Manager in operational matters such as manpower planning, parts handling, workshop planning, and addressing customer requests or complaints. Additionally, the position leads briefing sessions to ensure an effective communication channel. below are some of the key responsibilities:
- Develop and maximize the assigned territory for customer and company benefit.
- Promote and maintain positive long-term customer relationships in product support.
- Understand customer business needs from technical and economical perspectives.
- Perform regular customer visits and pursue parts and service opportunities in the defined territory.
- Ensure directed coverage of specified customers as per company standards.
- Complete and submit call reports in accordance with company standards.
- Develop and maintain a customer profile database with demographic information and purchase records.
- Identify and quantify new customers, assess buying habits, and analyze market share by geographic unit.
- Implement customer retention and loyalty programs to increase purchase frequency and volume.
- Develop sales forecasts and business plans for each assigned customer.
- Have developed sales and support business plans, sales forecasts by parts commodity and service sector, and specific forecasts for special service or parts programs for each customer.
- Develop and sell scheduled marketing and selling programs, including maintenance services, inspection programs, and repair contracts.
- Coordinate market and opinion surveys to assess company sales, market position, and customer satisfaction.
- Create necessary sales documents and aids, such as brochures and posters.
- Compile a list of products and services available for customers, including future benefits and cost information.
- Assist in coordinating service work, advising customers on parts and service matters, and handling equipment breakdowns and emergency orders.
- Provide quotes and estimates for repairs as required by customers.
- Complete all reporting requirements in a timely manner.
- Monitor and lead Dealer operations as a support function in the absence of the Dealer Manager.
- Maintain frequent communication with the Dealer Manager, updating on arising issues and needs.

- Degree in any related field
- Significant Commercial vehicle industry knowledge and experience.
- Minimum of 3 (three) years’ experience related to parts and/or service operation, preferably from construction equipment dealership or in aftermarket parts industry.
- Product knowledge including basic mechanics, features and benefits knowledge of all commodities sold.
- Commercially and business focus, target driven and “self-going” initiator skills.
- Strong customer orientation and marketing understanding.
- Good understanding of financial and pricing principles and discounting effects.
- A good working knowledge of sales techniques and methodologies.
- A good knowledge of marketing statistical techniques.
