Oversee and lead country-wide implementation and management of the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management framework, Corporate Insurance and Business Continuity Management. Drive initiatives as directed by the Global function to ensure alignment to global direction on top of local initiatives
The Assistant Manager of Compliance plays a crucial role in supporting and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies. This position involves reviewing compliance-related contract clauses, managing third-party intermediary customer/vendor registration, conducting compliance reviews, assisting in investigations if needed, and overseeing compliance-related training activities.
**Responsibilities**:
Review Compliance-Related Contract Clauses:
- Review and analyze contract clauses to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and highlight any potential compliance risks or concerns within contract agreements.
- Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to address compliance-related contract issues and provide recommendations for improvement.
Manage Third-Party Intermediary Customer/Vendor Registration:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive process for registering and monitoring third-party intermediaries, including customers and vendors as company requirements
- Conduct due diligence assessments on third-party intermediaries to ensure compliance with anti-bribery and anti-corruption (ABAC) regulations.
- Regularly update and maintain a database of registered third-party intermediaries, including documentation and necessary compliance records.
ABAC-Related Activities:
- Conduct compliance reviews and assessments to identify any potential violations of anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations.
- Assist in internal investigations related to compliance issues, including gathering evidence, interviewing relevant parties, and documenting findings.
- Collaborate with the relevant departments to implement corrective actions and ensure adherence to compliance policies and procedures.
Compliance-Related Training:
- Develop, implement, and deliver compliance-related training programs (include organise compliance event) to employees at all levels of the organization include the development and implementation of a compliance training plan tailored to the organization's needs.
- Collaborate with related BU or function head to deliver targeted training materials.
- Coordinate external training sessions or workshops with relevant business partners.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making improvements as necessary to address emerging compliance risks.
Compliance Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive compliance documentation system on compliance related activities, including contract reviews, third-party registrations, compliance reviews, investigations, and training sessions.
- Prepare regular reports on compliance metrics, including trend, risk assessments, and training completion rates.
- Assist in preparing compliance-related documentation for audits, regulatory filings, and other compliance reporting requirements if required.
**Job Requirements**
- Degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Degree in Law/Business Studies is an added advantage
- Recognized Enterprise Risk or Compliance Certification is highly advantageous
- Minimum of three years’ of experience in a similar role.
- Experience doing operational risk in an organization of similar size is preferred
- Proven experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (both written and spoken) for effective training delivery and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in any other language is an additional asset
