A&M’s Insight Center (“IC”) is the rapidly growing research and benchmarking arm of Alvarez & Marsal. The mission of A&M’s Insight Center is to provide our global professionals and client executives with highly relevant, industry specific, actionable, fact-based insights derived through our proprietary benchmark and research studies. A&M’s Insight Center supports client work and business development projects with an ever-growing toolbox of products, including custom benchmarking and research studies and targeted subscriptions and resources. The team considers research both a science and an art, and as such is committed to developing high-quality, unique and insightful deliverables to support stakeholders. The Insight Center also manages the firm’s research subscription portfolio, about 200 subscriptions with a contract value of about $7.0 million.
A&M’s Knowledge Management (“KM”) team serves to advise the organization in roles, processes and technology recommendations as it relates to knowledge and content sharing throughout the organization. In addition to advising the company on knowledge sharing best practices, the team functionally manages the firm’s intranet and advises on how to meet knowledge sharing and collaboration requirements within the MS365 ecosystem and other integrated software solutions.
We are looking for an Insight Center/Knowledge Management Business Partner located in Kuala Lumpur to be a key part of the Global IC and KM team. This newly created role will primarily liaise with A&M’s employees in South-East Asia and Australia. By working directly with client facing staff you will help deliver a range of research and knowledge management services to support thought leadership, business development, and project delivery. You will be the “eyes and ears” for our team, working to develop and deliver relevant insights to our customers; assessing which requests can be served by global colleagues and which require your local support. You will also partner with business units on existing and future efforts designed to facilitate knowledge sharing and the development of IC services in the region. This role requires the keen ability to multi-task in order to deliver a wide range of research and KM services. These include managing research pipelines and KM activities for yourself, supervising other third-party research providers that we use, as well as helping with product evaluations and training staff on research and KM techniques.
Principal responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison and time-sensitive provider of services for local SEAA practices:_
- Interact directly with A&M stakeholders from all divisions and across all levels - from Analysts to Managing Directors
- Undertake time-sensitive research requests for the SEAA region with support of the rest of the IC team members (noting our other members are in Europe and the USA)
- Liaising with our KM and Comms teams to develop policies for how and when teams contribute content to our Intranet and other repositories
- Supporting activities to ensure that information presented is accurate and complete
- Identifying, categorizing, and evaluating content
- Training users on the correct use of content submission mechanisms
- Grow awareness of IC/KM capabilities and expertise_
- Collaborate with IC and KM team members to discuss support needs of stakeholders
- Have a deep understanding of the support the IC and KM can provide
- Increase awareness of IC capabilities such as research, subscriptions and thought leadership
- Support the design, development and implementation of KM future state processes/tools that align with business unit objectives
- Engage with internal stakeholders, to understand requirements and to identify opportunities to extend KM service offerings to the SEAA region
- Foster relationships and serve as the primary liaison between A&M’s business units and the Global IC and KM team, supporting the growth and evolution of the team
