This role requires partnering with the sales team to communicate how the proposed solution meets or exceeds client requirements. This role is also responsible for establishing relationships with clients and partners, representing our potential clients, and is an integral part of the sales process.
**Key role and responsibilities**:
- Serve as the owner of the technical and data center solutions in the sales process
- Assist with preparing quotes, proposals, and RFI/RFP responses
- Partner with the sales team to develop and deliver winning strategies and presentations
- Design solutions and supporting documents for client and partner sales opportunities
- Engage and often lead sales discussions with prospects, clients, and partners (either in person or via conference calls) with Client Manager/Client Partner when a technical resource is needed
- Maintain positive client relations throughout the sales process to earn clients' current and future business and trust
- Serve as a technical liaison between clients and the product and operations team to ensure supportable solutions and designs
- May host tours of the NTT GDC data centers.
- Identify best use of the NTT GDC product offerings to develop solutions that meet or exceed client requirements
- Respond to, maintain, and store answers to technical RFP questions
- Based on existing product knowledge, responsible to explain to internal / external stakeholders any product features/benefits and competitive position
- Perform special projects related to the Solutions Engineering function as assigned by senior leaders
**Knowledge, skills and abilities**:
- Ability to comfortably engage with clients, also requiring keen listening skills
- Ability to successfully present to senior-level prospects and clients
- Expert level understanding of modern data centers and IT client data center requirements
- Able to work effectively in a cross-functional multi-site team environment
- Must be able to effectively manage stress in a fast-paced environment
- Must be an excellent problem-solver, as well as creative thinker
- Ability to engage clients to extract critical technical and business drivers that may position client deliverables
- Effective at working with 3rd party contractors and vendors to aid in designing large client infrastructure deployments
- Working knowledge in developing a bill of materials and scope of work to meet large customer infrastructure deployment requirements
- Keeps abreast with competitive offerings to effectively position products and solutions in a competitive environment
- Self-starter, sales-centric, and a personable team player able to build cooperative relationships with individuals
- Extensive knowledge base in the Mission Critical Data Centers and Facilities Marketplace
- Strong in-depth expert working knowledge of data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems
- Comfortable with different modelling solutions based on kilowatt delivery to a client environment
- Must be a team player willing to promote and encourage open communication in a team environment
**Required qualifications and certifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering or equivalent
**Required experience**:
- Prior demonstrated experience in a technical sales role gained within a wholesale data center environment
- Prior demonstrated experience with Salesforce and Oracle, couple with relevant RFT and RFI processes
- Prior demonstrated experience in Solutions Engineering in the Data Center or Colocation industry with an in-depth understanding of the sales process
- Solid demonstrated experience in Network, cloud services, storage, and other technologies found in client environments
