About the Role

The Deputy CEO of UOB Asset Management will be responsible for driving growth, best practices, and enhancing current processes and targets. This senior leadership position will oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and articulate a clear vision, mission, and strategic roadmap for the company, aligned with market trends, client needs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Business Development: Drive efforts to expand the firm's client base, increase assets under management (AUM), and identify new growth opportunities in domestic and international markets.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure profitability, efficiency, and sustainable growth.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
  • Talent Development: Attract, retain, and develop top talent, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including shareholders, regulators, and strategic partners.
  • Innovation and Technology: Drive innovation and leverage technology to enhance investment processes, operational efficiency, and client engagement.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and senior management experience within the asset management industry, preferably in Malaysia or South East Asia region.
  • Strong contacts with GLCs and corporates in Malaysia.
  • Familiar with the retail landscape in Malaysia and contacts with key stakeholders amongst the major banks.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and regulatory environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate and capitalize on market opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, CFA) preferred.
