Job Description

The role of Business Development Director at Nala Groups demands a seasoned professional with a strong background in management, able to oversee the day-to-day operations of our multifaceted business units.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations of café, dance and piano studio, apparel shop, and children's art centre, ensuring all areas are staffed appropriately and run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Implement and monitor operational policies and procedures to enhance productivity and customer service.

Financial Management plays a crucial role, requiring the ability to develop and manage budgets for each business unit, monitor financial performance, and prepare financial reports to provide insights to the owner/director.

Leadership Skills
  • Recruit, train, and supervise staff across all business units, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and development opportunities.

Customer Service is paramount, ensuring a high standard of customer satisfaction across all business units by handling inquiries, feedback, and complaints effectively.

Marketing Strategy
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote the café, studios, shop, and art centre.
  • Plan and execute events, workshops, and promotions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local community groups, schools, and businesses.

Facility Management involves ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and maintenance of all facilities and coordinating repairs and upgrades as needed.

Inventory Management requires overseeing inventory levels for the café and apparel shop and implementing effective stock control systems.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in a similar multifaceted environment.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple business units and a diverse team.
  • Passion for the arts, community engagement, and customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management software.
