Senior Internal Controls Specialist

A prominent Malaysian company has grown into a leader in the engineered wood industry. Initially starting with distribution operations in Singapore, the business quickly expanded across Malaysia and internationally.
The organization specializes in manufacturing laminated wood panels and wrapped moldings, while also distributing a variety of wood and building materials.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and prepare a comprehensive work plan by identifying high-risk areas to be assessed during the audit assignment.
- Assist in planning and executing internal audit engagements, collaborating with stakeholders and establishing audit programs to evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of internal controls.
- Identify key risk areas, gaps, and weaknesses in internal controls, and provide actionable recommendations to relevant business units for improvement.
- Prepare thorough audit reports for management and the Board of Directors, and conduct follow-up procedures to ensure completion of management action plans.
- Manage audit projects from initiation to completion, and conduct an initial review of team members' work.
- Support the organization in reviewing and enhancing audit processes, procedures, and systems.
- Promote the development of robust policies and guidelines related to internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance.
- Provide assistance with ad-hoc tasks, investigations, and initiatives aimed at improving the internal audit department.
- Degree/Diploma in Accountancy / Finance / Business or equivalent professional qualifications.
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in audit and risk management.
- A high level of integrity and accountability in work and teamwork.
- Strong auditing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Mandatory occasional travel (domestically and/or internationally).
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written English.
Rm120,000 - Rm180,000 per annum, depending on experience.
