_**Job Summary**:_

The role is responsible for safeguarding the Company’s interests by preventing IR risks, managing misconduct and grievances, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian labor and industrial laws. With proven experience in retail and logistics, the Executive, IR plays a critical role in maintaining industrial harmony, supporting business continuity, and fostering a fair and compliant workplace culture.
- **Key Responsibilities**:_

1. Prevention, Awareness & Risk Mitigation
- Drive awareness campaigns and training sessions on IR policies, code of conduct, and risk prevention strategies.
- Monitor workplace communication and interaction to detect potential IR risks early and propose preventive measures.
- Conduct and coordinate Domestic Inquiries (DI), including preparing documentation and reports.
- Monitor employee relations issues and propose preventive actions to maintain industrial harmony.

2. Misconduct & Disciplinary Action
- Investigate, document, and process both minor and major misconduct cases in accordance with internal SOP and Malaysian employment laws.
- Provide guidance to line managers on disciplinary procedures and recommend appropriate actions.
- Advise managers and HR team on IR policies, procedures, and compliance matters.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate records for all IR cases and correspondence.

3. Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) Handling
- Coordinate and manage PIP implementation for underperforming employees, working closely with line managers to ensure fairness and due process.

4. Grievance
- Lead in managing major grievance cases, particularly those escalated through internal platforms such as We Listen, Loss and Prevention & Security.
- Act as a neutral party to mediate and resolve conflicts while protecting the company’s interests and upholding employee rights.
- Monitor employee relations issues and propose preventive actions to maintain industrial harmony.

5. IR Metrics
- Track and report key metrics such as case closure timelines, grievance resolution rate, and root cause trends.
- Maintain records related to cost of IR cases including legal damages, court expenses, and internal handling.

6. Stakeholder Management
- Serve as key liaison between the company and internal/external stakeholders including: Employees and line managers, Loss Prevention and Security, Internal and external lawyers, IR consultants.

7. Participation & External Networking
- Maintain active membership and engagement with at least one professional employer association i.e. MEF / MECA / HR Edge.
- Keep updated with the latest IR trends, practices, and legislative changes through seminars and professional forums.
- Liaise with government bodies (JTK and IR Department) and external legal advisors when needed.
- Ensure compliance with the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant laws.

8. Learning & Growth
- Attend relevant IR and labor law courses and workshops.
- Share learnings with the HR team or wider organization to build IR knowledge and awareness.
- Conduct training for managers on handling discipline and employee-related issues.

**Currently office based Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya (near to Glenmarie LRT station)**

**Moving to Wisma Segi office at Kampung Melayu Subang Q3-Q4 2026.**
