Nyonya Club, a new and exciting destination for authentic **pork-free Nyonya cuisine**, is looking for a skilled Demi Chef or Commis Chef to join our kitchen brigade. This is a fantastic opportunity to hone your skills under experienced leadership and contribute to a unique culinary concept.

**Key Responsibilities**

As a Demi Chef or Commis Chef, you will be the engine of your station, ensuring efficiency, quality, and consistency:

- **Culinary Preparation**: Execute all food items according to guest orders, strictly adhering to recipe cards, production, portion, and presentation standards.
- **Station Management**: Complete thorough _mise en place_ and set up your assigned station completely before service.
- **Batch Cooking**: Prepare food items ahead of time (**batch cooking**), ensuring accurate estimations to avoid overproduction and waste.
- **Equipment Care**: Operate, maintain, and properly clean all kitchen equipment, including deep fryer, broiler, stove, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, and flat top grill.
- **Inventory & Cost Control**: Accurately label and date all food containers and ensure proper rotation (_FIFO_). Monitor pars, prepare necessary items, track any potential shortages, and actively work to control food waste and cost.
- **Hygiene & Safety**: Ensure all perishables are stored at the correct temperatures and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in your working area.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work harmoniously, professionally, and respectfully with all co-workers and supervisors.

**Requirements**:
We are looking for a dedicated and skilled culinary professional:

- **Education**: A Degree or Diploma in Culinary Arts, Food Management, Food Science, Food Technology, or other relevant courses is highly **preferred**.
- **Experience**: Proven working experience as a **Commis Chef** (or equivalent) is essential. Ideally, 1-3 years of working experience in a related culinary field.
- **Technical Skills**: Deep knowledge of the food industry and current trends, with a strong commitment to learning **Nyonya and Asian culinary techniques**.
- **Soft Skills**: Excellent **Communication**, Interpersonal, organizational, and **multi-tasking skills** are required to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- **Language**: Fluency in **English** is required.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
