Rompin, Malaysia Wildlife Conservation And Science (Malaysia) Bhd. Full time

Major responsibilities:

- Plan and manage anti-poaching field activities and field staffs involved in Pahang and by extension, the Greater Endau-Rompin Landscape.
- Work closely with the Kahang, Johor team and other relevant staffs to coordinate field work and logistic planning between sites.
- To manage and supervise all field data compilation to ensure regular analysis and reporting to supervisor, Landscape Manager, Country Director, and other relevant staffs and partners where applicable.
- Conduct and assist in counter-wildlife trafficking related trainings/discussions/meetings to staffs, partners (e.g., government agencies), and other relevant agencies where applicable.
- Attend relevant meetings, workshops, strategy sessions, government events, and act as liaison between WCS and the Government of Malaysia and other agencies in relevant matters.
- Assist in conducting threat assessments and problem analysis to produce reports and recommendations to inform conservation and protection strategies for tigers, elephants, and other wildlife in the landscape.
- To produce relevant documentation (project reports, resource materials and training reports) according to project activities.
- To assist the Coordinator in the preparation of budgets as and when required.
- Facilitate communication between team members when necessary.
- Monitor management of company assets and manage procurement processes for new assets.
- To familiarize with the Company’s processes and policies.
- To perform other duties as may be required by your supervisor, Landscape Manager, and the Country Director.

Minimum Requirements:

- Degree in biological sciences (forestry, zoology, ecology, biodiversity) or equivalent.
- Minimum 4-5 years of working experience is preferable.
- Experience in anti-poaching, wildlife trade, or criminology (e.g., crime science) will be an advantage.
- Passion and enthusiasm for wildlife conservation.
- Meticulous with a keen eye for details.
- Has discipline and can work as a team.
- Willing to travel to rural areas for extended periods.
- Independent with ability to prioritize, work under pressure and under minimum supervision.
- The ability to drive a manual transmission 4x4 vehicle or ride a motorcycle will be a plus.
- Having knowledge or experience in using QGIS / ARCGIS, SMART and statistics software is a plus.
- Able to work during weekends or public holidays or when required.
- Good communication skills.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia and have moderate writing skills in both; ability to communicate in other languages is a plus.

Pay: RM1,484.67 - RM3,034.52 per month

Schedule:
