**The Opportunity**
Our client, one of the leading specialists in Australian Insurance that was first founded in 1910 with approximately 2,600 team members, is looking to onboard a **Payroll Specialist** to join their growing team in the ASW Manila Global Office.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide assistance to develop, implement, forecast and drive the strategic direction, performance and sustainability of the payroll function.
- Preparation of fortnightly pay including data entry, checking and processing of information from manual forms or electronic timesheets, (i.e., processing of leave forms, employee deductions, pay adjustments, etc.), leave reconciliations and month end accounting and payment processes.
- Assist with system and process improvements to expedite the payroll process.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation. Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes.
- Build and maintain robust and productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of the strategy and objectives.
- Ensure appropriate attention, management and prevention of risk and governance as it relates to the payroll function. Identifying, reporting and discussing any emerging risks with the Payroll Manager.
- Liaise with Human Resources to ensure payroll is in accordance with individual employment agreements, industry awards and company requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure strategic alignment of payroll objectives and adequacy of controls, systems, processes and reporting capability to support the organization’s growth and efficiency.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Accounting Degree or equivalent and qualification aligned to Payroll / Accounting.
- Minimum 5 years’ payroll experience, working within in a fast-paced business environment.
- Australian / New Zealand payroll experience would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Australian Payroll legislative requirements (awards, Payroll tax, Superannuation, PAYG and Workers Compensation.
- Able to work with high volume data (around 15K employees to process).
- Able to perform payroll manual calculations.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite.
