Key Responsibilities and Duties:

- Inspection & Clearance: Conduct physical and documentary inspections of shipments to verify compliance withcustoms regulations.
- Documentation Management: Review and process customs declarations, import/export permits, and related shipping documents.
- Law Enforcement: Identify and report unlawful activities such as smuggling or tax evasion, and take appropriateaction in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
- Advisory Role: Provide guidance to importers, exporters, and shipping agents on tariff classifications, duty calculations, and applicable legal requirements.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of shipments, investigations, and regulatory decisions.
- Collaboration: Liaise with other government bodies, port authorities, and international organizations for effective customs operations.
- Policy Implementation: Assist in implementing new customs policies and procedures, ensuring awareness and adherence among stakeholders.
- Ensure relevant KPIs are met and purchases stay within allocated or approved budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all ISO requirements and any management-approved standards.
- Take responsibility for equipment and vehicle repairs, including lorries and forklifts.

Qualification / Knowledge / Skill Requirement:

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in customs operations, trade compliance, or logistics (preferred).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of customs laws, excellent analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.
- Certifications: Certification in customs compliance or relevant training programs (preferred).
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with customs management software and databases.

Authority:

- Conduct investigations and searches within legal parameters.
- Seize goods or impose penalties for regulatory violations.
- Issue clearance or hold orders based on inspection results.
- Recommend policy changes to senior management.

Working Condition:

- Environment: Office setting, ports, warehouses, and border checkpoints.
- Hours: May involve shift work, weekends, and public holidays.
- Physical Demands: Periodic physical inspections, standing for extended periods, and exposure to varying weather conditions.
- Travel: Occasional travel for inspections, training, or inter-agency coordination.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
