**Responsibilities**:
Reservations: Handle bookings by phone, online, or in person
Check-in and check-out: Manage the arrival and departure processes
Guest services: Provide information, take messages, and resolve guest complaints
Concierge services: Help guests with travel arrangements, bookings, and local information
Financial transactions: Settle accounts or provide currency exchange

Staff
Front desk staff: Greet guests, answer questions, and provide information
Shift leaders: Ensure exceptional guest experiences by managing arrivals, departures, and guest needs

Software
Larger hotels may use front desk software to automate and streamline activities
Customer experience
Front desk staff should be trained in active listening, critical thinking, problem solving, and emotional intelligence
