As the **HR Manager of Malaysia's Marketing and Sales Unit (MSU)**, you will not only be responsible for managing all internal HR activities and local operations but also play a crucial role in business partnering with key stakeholders across the organization.

You will collaborate closely with business leaders to understand their needs and align HR strategies with the company's overall objectives, ensuring that HR initiatives support and drive business success.

In summary, as the HR Manager (MSU), you will be accountable for **overseeing all HR functions, ensuring smooth local operations, partnering with business stakeholders, and leading the employer value proposition to create a high-performance culture and drive the company's success in the country.**

The HR Manager (MSU) reports to the General Manager Retail Malaysia.

**Goals and Key Accountabilities**:
The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing various HR and people-related functions within the local country organization/entity (MSU). This includes managing compensation and benefits, talent and performance management, local labor relations, and associate engagement. The role operates in alignment with the company's overall HR strategy and guidelines set by the central HR organization.

Key element of the HR Manager’s role is to act as a business partner to People Leaders sited in the PJ office; supporting local directors/managers, advising and challenging them on HR matters.

**Responsibilities and Key Activities**:

- A key member of the Malaysia Retail Business (MSU) Leadership Team, partnering closely with respective leaders on their People Agenda and priorities.
- Understand JDE’s HR strategy (HR programs, processes, tools and models) and lead the adaptation and implementation on a local level and ensures all human resources activities are implemented in accordance with the company’s HR strategy, including deep understanding and adherence to Combined Business Model guidance.
- Liaises with general and functional leadership to develop and implement local HR strategy according to their business needs.
- Provides business partnering and coaching in driving teams’ engagement, talent development, performance management, organizational structure, and resourcing strategies.
- The HR Manager takes on an active role in talent management activities for the business, working in close collaboration with the Regional HR Director. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping the employer brand and value proposition for the country.
- Leads implementation of various local and/or functional change projects and ensures they are appropriately resourced, structured and governed.
- Owns and drives HR metrics, working in close collaboration within the HR function, to ensure efficient and high-quality local HR services.
- Ensures compliance of the local HR policies, procedures and documentation with local regulations.
- Manages local labor relations (unions, works councils etc.) in cooperation with the GM and in alignment with the central HR organization. Supports local managers in dealing with front line associate issues.
- Manages local compensation, reward and benefits within the global HR programs and guidelines.
- Recruits and trains permanent, graduate, and temporary associates in the local organization following requests from General Manager, in accordance with HR central guidelines.
- Exhibits a strong focus on people development within own area and consistently improves capabilities and engagement in the direct and indirect team.
- Liaises with HR Corporate and Regional management and specialists on a frequent basis to ensure the key HR processes and best practices are executed and delivered as planned, and in line with site/country and corporate policies.
- Supports General Manager in the implementation of commercial projects.
- Proactive participation in the AOP process.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
Higher tertiary education; degree holder

**Experience**:

- At least 5-8 years of HR experience in a multinational environment.
- Preferably with relevant experience in team management and business partnering.
- A strong ability to set strategic goals, linked with business objectives.
- Familiar with local labour law and FMCG business environment
- Skilfully adept in influencing and guiding people managers and leaders
- Ability to translate plans into actions, to manage projects in the most efficient way, to challenge the existing and to drive change when necessary. Strong results-orientation.
- Leadership: self-confidence, professional credibility, ability to build relationships at every level of the hierarchy and outside the company, articulate communication, team player.
