**The company**
Our client is an innovative and dynamic logistics solutions provider with more than 4000 employees across more than 90 countries and being supported by hundreds of agents globally. The company provides airfreight, sea freight, customs brokerage, local transportation, warehousing, and distribution services. They provide logistics and supply chain solutions to aerospace, automotive, chemical, oil & gas, wine and spirits, and manufacturing industries.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Customer Service - Ocean Freight will be responsible to assists with all aspects of an efficient and effective Ocean Department as required by the company’s management team to ensure but not limited to the timely movement of freight, compliant execution of all operational functions and satisfaction of clients through exceptional customer service. The Customer Service - Ocean Freight will be based in Penang.
**The role**
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow and meet clients’ requirements.
- Daily Ocean import and export coordination and correspond with clients, service providers and internal team.
- Prepare required documents for international transportation.
- Work with approved service providers and requirements for customs declarations or government agency all ocean export and import shipments.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the company’s operating system.
- Monitor shipment status/reports to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Interact with customers in a courteous manner, arranging their international shipments and meeting customer service standards.
- Monitor inbound and outbound sailing schedules for Ocean shipments.
- Coordinate and negotiate rates with the company’s contracted/approved service providers in procuring space and services.
- Managing intercompany quote inquiries and ad-hoc quotation for existing customers.
- Ensure accurate and timely clients, intercompany and vendors invoicing.
- Ensure all clients invoices are submitted to client on0time.
- Validate vendor invoices and accruals timely.
- Operate in accordance with all internal policies and procedures such as Cargo Wise Operational Process Standards and external government regulations or customer policies / requirements.
- Understand department process flow, look for areas of improved efficiency and utilize tools as required and recommended by the Supervisor / Manager.
- Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are followed as per the SOP set-up.
- Work with the team on meeting KPI standards, as per the company’s procedures.
- To assist and support the Manager in other ad-hoc tasks assign when required.
**The requirements**
- Possess degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in related field.
- Strong operations and industry and knowledge.
- Proficient in English, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Efficient time management, versatile and flexible thinking, and operational capability.
- Computer literate including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Good knowledge of Government regulations, Geography, and International Freight Shipping Terms (Incoterms).
- Detail oriented, ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
