Quantity Surveyor

WK Consortium Sdn Bhd is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented **Quantity Surveyor** to join our construction and development division. As part of our growing team, you will play a key role in ensuring cost efficiency, accuracy, and financial control across multiple projects — from tender to completion.

This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, proven project experience, and the ability to balance precision with practical problem-solving.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Cost Planning & Estimation**:

- Prepare cost analysis based on architectural drawings, engineering estimates, labour, and material requirements.
- Carry out estimation, cost planning, and cost reporting to ensure budget alignment.
- Develop cost plans to guide architects, engineers, and subcontractors in producing cost-effective and practical designs.
- **Tender & Contract Management**:

- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, negotiate terms, and provide recommendations for award.
- Handle appointment and coordination of consultants where required.
- **Project Monitoring & Control**:

- Monitor project progress, track budgets, and control expenditure at all stages of a project.
- Manage valuations, variations, interim payments, and preparation of final accounts.
- Ensure projects are delivered within predetermined budgets while meeting client requirements.
- **Procurement & Material Sourcing**:

- Assist in selecting and sourcing suitable construction materials.
- Liaise with suppliers, consultants, and contractors to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
- **Reporting & Documentation**:

- Prepare cost reports, project submissions, and relevant documentation.
- Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance.
- **Client & Team Collaboration**:

- Attend meetings and site visits to provide cost advice and project updates.
- Work closely with internal teams, consultants, and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- **Other Duties**:

- Perform any additional responsibilities as assigned by Management, in line with business and project needs.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum **3-5 years of relevant working experience** in property development or construction (experience in high-rise/large-scale projects is an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, contracts, and procurement practices.
- Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, and QS-related software (e.g., CostX, Glodon, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to liaise with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently with mínimal supervision.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
