About the role

We're looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Kombinasi Saudagar Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Quantity Surveying team and contributing to the success of our construction projects.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting the Quantity Surveying team in the preparation of cost estimates, bills of quantities, and other quantity surveying-related tasks
  • Conducting site measurements, quantity calculations, and cost analyses to ensure accurate project costing
  • Reviewing and verifying subcontractor and supplier quotations, invoices, and claims
  • Participating in contract negotiations and managing contractual procedures
  • Supporting the preparation of progress reports and financial records
  • Liaising with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and problem-solving
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in quantity surveying

What we're looking for

  • Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, preferably in the construction industry
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders
  • Proficient in using relevant software, such as CAD, spreadsheets, and project management tools
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, cost control, and project management principles
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
