- Turns requisitions into purchase orders and forwards purchase orders to suppliers.-
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price, obtains recommendations from suppliers for substitute items.-
- Provides purchasing information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.-
- Monitors shipments to ensure that goods come in on time and traces shipment of undelivered goods.-
- Resolves shipments in error with suppliers.-
- Expedites orders when necessary.-
- Coordinates new supplier set up process as needed.-
- Trains new local users on use of procurement system-
- Verifies purchase requisitions by comparing items requested to master list, clarifying unclear items, recommends alternatives as needed.-
- Performs other duties as required.Education and Experience:

- Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field preferred; supply chain concentration preferred.-
- 1-2 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner, preferably in a Medical Device Environment-
- Professional certification a plus- Preferred Skills and Competencies:
- Experience with ERP/MRP-
- Experience with SAP Software preferred.-
- Proficient in MS Office - emphasis on Excel-
- Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities-
- Cooperative, team player and positive attitude a must-
- Strong service-orientation-
- Clear verbal and written communication skills-
- Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay, Mandarin)
