Watch the video" **We are seeking for an enthusiastic, customer-oriented GC and GC/MS Product Specialist for our Malaysia/SAP-IDO organization** As a Product Specialist (PS) for Malaysia, South Asia Pacific and the IDO (International Distributor Organization), supporting the Agilent Gas Chromatography and Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry product lines, you will use your technical expertise in GC and GCMS and your sales acumen to develop and implement successful strategies to sell complex Gas Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry workflow solutions to meet sales targets and drive a successful customer experience with Agilent. Concurrently you will design and execute successful business development strategies to grow the medium - and longer-term funnel of opportunities. In this position, you will also be the primary region expert to drive GC and GCMS growth in the energy and energy associated sectors (eg: academic research groups) and will be seen as a champion resource to support strategic face to face or virtual sales activities within the region. Your technical knowledge of GC and GCMS for complex gas analysis utilizing a variety of sampling systems, gas valving, multi-column chromatography and detectors will be invaluable. You are passionate to lead Agilent's region strategy to grow our footprint in the alternative energy market space. **In this Role**: - You will be accountable for all pre-sales business development activities in your country - You will be measured by the GC and GC/MS business results in your area of responsibility and your work must secure GC/GCMS product penetration into the Life Sciences, Academia and Applied Markets spaces - You will interface with the SAP-IDO Sales Team, region marketing group, and other Application specialists within Agilent **Your main responsibilities include**: - Belonging to the SAP and IDO sales organization, you will be responsible of developing the GC and GC/MS business by supporting all sales channels to ultimately closing orders and keep a motivated and a well-trained sales force. - Developing GC and GC/MS funnel and having a clear view of the competitive environment in Malaysia and assigned IDO countries using all the available internal tools - Responsible to provide market, technical and technical sales support to drive region GC and GC/MS growth in the Energy market. - Support all GC and GC/MS related marketing activities and actively develop/engage/propose marketing initiatives at local and region level - Teamwork with other areas of the business establishing partnership and working together with the software, liquid phase or service Agilent team with a clear business focus - Being fluent in English and Malay while speaking other Asian languages is a plus. - Practical laboratory experience in GC and GCMS technologies with a focus on gas analysis is a must. - Experience of selling GC and GCMS Solutions into the Energy will be an important plus. **Previous Experience and Background** - PhD, Master and/or University Degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related equivalent qualification. In-depth knowledge on gas chromatography (GC, main GC detectors, samplers) and mass spectrometry techniques (EI/CI, single quadrupole, triple quadrupole, TOF/QTOF etc). - Gas analysis expertise on a wide variety of GC systems/configurations with selective and/or MS detection. - Good knowledge of the Agilent SW platforms is a strong plus: Chemstation, OpenLab and especially Mass Hunter Quant/Qual. - 6 to 8+ years hands-on experience with GC and GCMS, preferably in a customer facing role or during University studies - Relevant sales experience will be an added advantage.
