About the role

Techcom Technology Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Costing Engineer to join our team in Gelang Patah, Johor. As a Costing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving the financial success of our Mechanical Engineering projects. This full-time position requires strong analytical skills and a keen eye for detail to ensure accurate cost estimates and project budgets.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing detailed cost estimates for sheet metal fabrication job, including labor, materials, and equipment
  2. Analyzing historical data and market trends to develop accurate and competitive cost projections
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize project budgets
  4. Monitoring and tracking project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing regular updates to the management team
  5. Identifying and mitigating potential cost risks, ensuring projects remain on budget
  6. Continuously improving costing processes and methodologies to enhance the overall efficiency of the department
  7. Prepare quotation and other administration works.
  8. Propose the technical issue to customers through quote.
  9. Technical support to Sales team for new projects.
  10. Establish and maintain good relationship with customers and suppliers.
  11. Update and maintain costing master list

What we're looking for

  1. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Costing Engineer or in a similar role within the Mechanical Engineering industry
  3. Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, able to work independently & ability to work in multi-task environment
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  6. Good knowledge of sheet metal fabrication industry or machining industry
  7. Able to commence work within short notice advantageous
