What you'll be doing?
  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee day-to-day financial activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Accounting Transactions: Perform and supervise daily accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance accuracy, efficiency, internal controls, cost savings, and documentation processes.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and support team members in their daily tasks and reporting responsibilities.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, reports, and financial schedules within agreed timelines.
  • Vendor Management: Review and verify supplier invoices against aging reports before issuing payments.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate effectively with auditors, tax authorities, banks, and other relevant parties on financial matters.
  • Ad-hoc Assignments: Take on additional tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Who are they looking for?
  • Educational Background: Hold a degree in Finance and/or Accounting or an equivalent qualification.
  • Professional Experience: Have at least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting and reporting roles.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the ability to work under pressure.
  • Technical Proficiency: Possess strong computer skills, including MS Office, Excel, POS systems, and accounting software like Autocount Accounting.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication abilities to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Process Improvement: Show a pragmatic approach and drive for enhancing operational processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Display a results-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the retail/supermarket industry would be advantageous but is not required.
  • Leadership Experience: Have experience leading a team of at least 5 people.
