Key Activities

  1. To lead the formulation and development of new product concepts (including ongoing revamp of existing range).
  2. To produce-screen the safety, quality, Halal compliance, supplier qualification and other specifications of raw materials.
  3. Ensure efficient and profitable management of the product development process including supplier liaison, price negotiation.
  4. Sourcing for raw materials for new product application.
  5. To conduct research and development on raw materials and products in order to ensure compliance to specifications and regulations.
  6. Conduct sensory evaluation and analysis on both new products and existing products.
  7. Perform ongoing market analysis to keep new product with strong brand story that comply with market needs.
  8. Responsible to pre-track with consumer needs and competitor performance.
  9. Keep abreast with forthcoming trends to constantly identify new product development opportunities to stay ahead in the competition.
  10. Work closely with marketing team to identify priorities for new products and enhancements.
  11. Work with Regulatory and Quality compliance issues.
  12. To prepare new formulation for trial batches and ensuring these are updated in application database.
  13. Monitor R&D documentation and testing schedule.

Qualification

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor Degree or higher, preferably in food science / technology related course.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in new product development or similar role is required.
  • Computer literate and good knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written).
  • Self-motivated, flexible, able to work independently.
  • Creative, innovative and keep abreast of current new trend.
