Assistant HR Manager

Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full recruitment process, including managing staffing requisitions, screening candidates through resume shortlisting, phone interviews, and in-person interviews, while coordinating with relevant departments and conducting background checks. Facilitate orientation programs for new employees.
- Ensure all HR operations adhere to company policies and statutory regulations, maintaining compliance with management standards and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements.
- Assist the head of department in investigating staff disciplinary issues and support HR staff in counseling and disciplining employees to uphold performance standards.
- Maintain and update employee information, ensuring accurate records in the HR database (HR SharePoint) and implementing an effective filing and retrieval system.
- Support the head of department in fostering continuity among head office, departmental, and local teams by documenting and communicating relevant actions and ongoing needs.
- Manage maintenance of company office equipment and assist in planning company events or activities with management approval.
- Perform other HR and administrative tasks as required.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration.
- At least 5 years of HR experience, preferably in multinational or large organizations, with a background in managing labor relations and collective agreements.
- Experience in global HR projects or regional exposure is essential.
- Experience in the construction or manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Strong understanding of labor laws and HR regulations.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the capacity to influence change at all organizational levels.
- High standards of ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively.
- Strong command of English and Mandarin, both written and spoken.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with SAP and local HR payroll systems.
