Systems and Network Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Systems and Network Engineer to manage and maintain our data center and on-premise server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will ensure high availability, optimize performance, and implement security measures across our network and server environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage, monitor, and maintain servers to ensure maximum uptime and performance.
  2. Oversee gateway and firewall systems, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  3. Develop, implement, and maintain software or scripts for:

  4. Traffic monitoring

  5. Resource utilization monitoring
  6. Server uptime/downtime monitoring

  7. Security monitoring and alerting

  8. Plan, deploy, and manage on-premise and data center infrastructure, including networking, storage, and compute resources.

  9. Collaborate with teams to ensure secure, efficient, and resilient infrastructure.
  10. Perform regular system audits, updates, and patch management to maintain security and compliance standards.
  11. Document network and server configurations, procedures, and policies.
  12. Troubleshoot and resolve complex system and network issues promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or any related technical field.
  2. Hands-on experience with firewalls, gateways, and monitoring tools.
  3. Proficiency in scripting or programming for system automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
  4. Strong understanding of data center operations and on-premise server management.
  5. Knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and security standards.
  6. Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  7. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Additional Advantages if you meet any of the following:

  1. Proven experience with server administration, network management, and IT security practices.
  2. Experience with virtualisation and containerization technologies such as Docker.
  3. Familiarity with cloud integration or hybrid environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
