Role Overview

The Strategic Delivery Operations Lead is a hands-on, execution-focused professional responsible for ensuring organizational priorities are delivered with discipline, speed, and accountability. This role serves as the central engine of organizational momentum, driving progress across Commercial, Finance, HR, Technical, Trading, and emerging project portfolios (including the Congo project and other market-entry initiatives).

It is ideal for a highly organized, proactive operator who ensures that actions are tracked, decisions are implemented, and cross-functional teams deliver consistently. This is not an engineering role, nor a Chief of Staff or high-level strategy role. It is an operations and delivery role, deeply embedded in daily execution.

Core Mandate

  • Move organizational priorities forward with discipline and pace
  • Protect CEO bandwidth and maintain strategic focus
  • Strengthen execution across ATLS, trading, contracts, and project delivery
  • Drive cross-functional accountability
  • Identify and mitigate operational, commercial, and contractual risks

Key Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Delivery Oversight

  • Track and follow up on action items across Commercial, Finance, HR, Technical, Trading, and Project teams.
  • Monitor delivery of commitments and key milestones.
  • Keep all workstreams aligned with organizational and CEO priorities.

2. Progress Management, Tracking & Early Escalation

  • Maintain central trackers, dashboards, and monitoring tools.
  • Prepare structured progress updates for leadership and board communications.
  • Identify delays early and escalate risks with recommended solutions.

3. PMO-Style Coordination & Project Support

  • Apply light-touch governance across major initiatives.
  • Support projects with planning, documentation, and follow-through.
  • Ensure alignment on timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.

4. Functional Coordination & Issue Resolution

  • Strengthen coordination among departments to remove bottlenecks and silos.
  • Step in temporarily where execution gaps exist.
  • Maintain momentum when teams are stretched or leadership is travelling.

5. Delivery Cadence, Discipline & Systems

  • Institutionalize templates, SOPs, trackers, and operational standards.
  • Establish a consistent delivery cadence through structured check-ins and follow-ups.
  • Ensure decisions made in meetings translate into implementation.

6. Output Quality, Reporting & Documentation

Elevate quality across:

  • Reports
  • Presentations and decks
  • Project documentation
  • Internal briefs and summaries
  • Support fast-moving workstreams with structured thinking.
  • Coach junior team members on execution excellence.

Experience:

  • 5–12 years in business operations, PMO, transformation, internal strategy, or program delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive execution without formal authority.
  • Experience in dynamic, multi-project, high-growth environments.

Skills & Competencies

  • Highly organized and methodical in work approach.
  • Strong stakeholder management at multiple levels.
  • Skilled in workflow tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Notion, Asana, AI tools).
  • Calm under pressure with a solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and reporting capability.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery momentum.
