Title: Product and Application Engineer

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Summary: BatteryHouse is seeking a proactive, technically skilled Product & Application Engineer to support customers and drive product solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Support

  • Act as the subject matter expert on applications and technical solutions for BatteryHouse products and systems.
  • Provide innovative solutions to both existing and new customers on product applications and technical concerns.
  • Recommend product improvements and/or modifications according to customer specifications.
  • Prepare detailed root cause analysis reports for customer-returned units with effective containment and corrective actions.

Product Design

  • Customize and design BatteryHouse products and systems.
  • Create Bills of Materials (BOM) for new battery products or systems.
  • Source new materials, tools, or machinery to improve BatteryHouse products, systems, or production efficiency.

Production Improvement

  • Provide technical expertise in developing appropriate manufacturing tests, production processes, and product reliability tests.
  • Develop and maintain guidelines for production testing systems.
  • Guide technicians in repairing defective battery packs.
  • Collect, organize, process, and analyze large quantities of cell/pack test data to evaluate performance.
  • Assist the Manufacturing and QC departments in testing to ensure products meet customer expectations and reliability standards.

  • Advise Manufacturing and QC departments on:

  • Tooling design

  • Testing techniques and equipment
  • Manufacturing tools and machinery
  • Prepare technical application notes and product documentation as required.
  • Conduct product knowledge training sessions for the Sales Team to communicate new designs, modifications, or features of BatteryHouse products and systems.
  • Visit customers when a potential sale is in progress to communicate product features and capabilities in relation to customer specifications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronic, or Electrical preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in battery design and/or application.
  • Working knowledge of product design, testing, and debugging of technical applications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical reasoning abilities.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin will be an added advantage for communicating with key suppliers.
